A collection of our annual Christmas cards over the years - a lovely tradition with my wife that allows us to collaborate and commemorate important life moments each year, and allow for some fun, playing with style & format.
Left "Cheeky Christmas" (2023) My yearly Christmas card illustration for 2023. This year we commemorated getting our new puppy - a source of so much joy in our household, but also of chaos never before known… so I wanted to imagine what may transpire if he found Kris Kringle stirring on his turf.
Right "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" (2022) An illustration I created of my wife & I “Rockin’ around the Christmas tree” for our annual holiday card. Sort of mid-century inspired and a fun exercise in texture, shape & color.
Above "The Christmas Pumpkin" (2021) This card was inspired by yet another tough holiday season of the pandemic & loss - so we were very much ready to phone in the Halloween decor that year. Halloween felt more appropriate...
Left "Home for the Foreseeable Future" (2020) It was officially a 'Covid Christmas' and it felt like there was no ignoring it, so why not lean into it? I chose to focus on how thankful I was for both of us to be healthy & cozily together in our home - filling evenings with somber guitar strumming, Animal Crossing on Switch, and a drink. Our fireplace isn't actually usable, but I liked to imagine if it were, we'd be warming our N-95s & nitrile gloves over the hearth next to our stockings - full of hand sanitizer.
Right "Mele Kalikimaka" (2019) This was the year that my wife & I were engaged - so we were very excited to commemorate that with that year's card. We decided to have some fun with the island greeting that we all know has nothing to do with Cleveland, OH... but we know where you can find a damn fine tiki drink!
Above "Christmas in Cleveland" (2018) This year was the 2nd year being in our house, but the first year we really put some effort into decorating. We absolutely love those big, retro, incandescent Christmas lights and the warm glow they give our home, but we wanted to use our sort of color palette and nod to mid-mod style to show off our big, bright home!
